2023 Spring Team Tennis Notes

10U Orange: There will be 5 teams in which each team will play each other two times for total of 8 matches.

10U Green: There will be 9 teams in which each team will play each other once for a total of 8 matches.

12U L7: There will be 9 teams in which each team will play each other once for a total of 8 matches.

12U L6: There will be 9 teams in which each team will play each other once for a total of 8 matches.

14U L7: There are 7 teams in the 14U L7. Each team will play each other one time. At the end of the season the top two teams will play off for 1st and 2nd for one more added match. 3rd and 4th will also have one more match to play should they choose as well as 5th and 6th place teams. The idea is to give our teams one more match in the season.  Going into the last match (especially the 1st and 2nd place finish) The team behind will need to get more games if they are behind in total games won. In other words if 1st is up by 10 games going into the last match, 2nd place team would need to not only win but also win by a margin of 10 or more games. These last matches will be scheduled for April 23.

14s L5 and L6:

Flight Red has 6 teams and 1 level 5 team

Flight Blue has 6 teams

At the end of the season…

Flight Red 1st vs Flight Blue 1st

Flight Red 2nd vs Flight Blue 2nd

Flight Red 3rd vs Flight Blue 3rd

And so forth

Flight Blue Details

This Flight will play 5 matches. They will finish April 2nd

At the end (on April 2nd) we will look at the total games won after the 5 matches and then have team #1 vs #2, Team #3 vs #4 and Team #5 vs #6 in the standings. When these teams play off against each other on April 2nd, in this last match (6th match) if one team is ahead in games by lets say ….10….then the other team must not only win this last match, but win it by 11 games in order to be ahead of them in total games won.

Flight Blue teams will not play on April 9th due to Easter and will not play on April 16th since they will be waiting for Flight Red to finish while waiting to see who they play.

On April 23rd they will have one more match against the winners against Flight Red placed winners to make it 7 matches in all.

Recap of Flight Blue

April 2nd will be the day we play 1v2, 3v4, 5v6.

April 9th is Easter

April 16th is week off

April 23 is when Flight Blue teams play Flight Red teams

18U L7: There are 4 teams in the 18U L7. Each team will play each other two times. At the end of the season on April 16 the top two teams will play off for 1st and 2nd for one more added match. 3rd and 4th will also have one more match to play should they choose. Going into the last match (especially the 1st and 2nd place finish) The team behind will need to get more games if they are behind in total games won. In other words if 1st is up by 10 games going into the last match, 2nd place team would need to not only win but also win by a margin of 10 or more games.

18U L6 and L5: We have 5 L6 teams and 2 L5 teams. On April 23 one more match for our two Level 5 teams will be scheduled which will play each other 2 times with the score from both adding up to the final between the two matches. If tied in games- they will play one more.

For the L6 teams, they will play each other one time while no games against the L5 teams will count other than for matches played.
