Parents

Coaches must distribute and review the USTA Code of Conduct with parents before the season and at each match intro.

 

New Rating Bands

Level 7 Novice Division: WTN: 36-40

Level 6 Int. Division: WTN: 32-40 (was 31-40)

Level 5 Adv. Division: WTN: 1-40

 

Low Confidence

These players can play anywhere the coach deems based on their play

 

Medium Confidence

Only one player with a Medium confidence can be moved who is within 2 rating band points. So a 34 can play on a Level 7 team since they are within 2 rating points of the 36 cutoff.

 

High Confidence

Only one player with a High confidence can be moved who is within 1 rating band point. So a 31 can play on a Level 6 team since they are within 1 rating point of the 32 cutoff.

 

We will go on the singles WTN of all players. Not Doubles

 

No-Shows

1st offense → Report to league coordinator (Conan). 2nd offense → Dismissal for the season.

Action Items for Coaches

  • Email me if you want RSPA/PTR credit for attending.

  • Send blackout dates and home court time constraints by Saturday Sept 20.

  • Provide new coach contact info for accurate site listings.

  • For multiple teams, specify which coach belongs to which team and provide contact details.

Key Dates

  • Aug 29: Registration opens

  • Sept 20 (Saturday): Deadline to create teams

  • Sept 28: Last day to register players (before first match or by 12 PM)

  • Sept 28: Season begins

  • Nov 30: Season ends (7–10 weeks for matches)

  • Dec 13-14: Palm Springs for 12s,14s and 18s.

  • NOTE: 10s Green and Orange will be in January in SD.

Blackout Issues & Reschedules

​

For matches where both teams requested blackouts or reached maximum home matches, coaches will need to work together to reschedule and notify me once a new date is set.

Below are the matches that need attention immediately

  • 10U Orange: Canyon Crest vs. Barnes (Oct 5), Barnes vs. La Valle (Nov 23).
     

  • 10U Green: South Bay vs. Balboa (Oct 5), Barnes vs. Carmel Valley (Oct 5), Barnes vs. Balboa (Oct 26), Barnes vs. South Bay (Nov 16).
     

  • 12U L6: All teams scheduled for Dec 7 must move their match to a date on or before Nov 30.
     

  • Clubs with multiple teams in the same division which include Carmel Valley, RPTC, Scripps and Barnes must schedule their “duel” match within the first two weeks of play, per SoCal rules.
     

League Breakdown & Schedule Format

10s Orange Ball

  • 9 teams, 8 matches each.
     

  • Sectionals in San Diego (Jan 10-11 weekend with location TBD).

  • We will have two teams from San Diego be invited to Sectionals from this division.

10s Green Ball

  • 20 teams, split into two flights (Blue and Red).
     

  • Last match: Nov 23.
     

  • Playoffs will be scheduled Nov 24–30 or Dec 1–7.
     

  • We will have two teams from San Diego be invited to Sectionals from this division.

  • Sectionals in San Diego (Jan 10-11 weekend with location TBD).

 

 

12s L7

  • 20 teams, split into two flights (Blue and Red).

  • Last match: Nov 23.
     

  • Playoffs scheduled Nov 24–30 or Dec 1–3. Same Sectionals/playoff determination as above.

  • We will have two teams from San Diego be invited to Sectionals from this division.
     

12s L6

  • 11 teams, round robin.
     

  • Matches scheduled through Dec 7, but all must be completed by Nov 30 to count. Dec 7 matches must be rescheduled or they will be considered defaults if they are not rescheduled and played. Look at your Dec 7 matched now and get with your opposing coach to reschedule.
     

14s L7

  • 12 teams, two flights (Blue and Red).

  • Last match: Nov 30.
     

  • Playoffs for flight winners scheduled Dec 1–3.

  • We will have two teams from San Diego be invited to Sectionals from this division.

 

14s L6

  • 10 teams, 9 matches.
     

  • Play concludes the weekend of Nov 23.

  • We will have two teams from San Diego be invited to Sectionals from this division.

 

14s L5

  • Only one team (Lomas), which automatically advances to Sectionals.
     

  • To secure qualifying match results, Lomas will compete in the 18s L6 division. Results will help qualify their players but will not affect the overall 18s L6 standings.
     

18s L7

  • 4 teams, double round robin (6 matches).
     

  • Final “7th match” on Nov 2. If the 1st place team leads by 10 games, the 2nd place team must win by at least 11 games to overtake as an example.
     

  • 3rd place will play 4th place in the final match.
     

18s L6

  • 7 teams, including the 14U L5 team.
     

  • Season runs through Nov 9 (6 matches).
     

  • Playoffs: Nov 16 for 1st vs. 2nd, and additional placement matches for 3rd–6th.
     

  • 14U L5 scores do not count toward final standings.
     

18s L5

  • 4 teams, double round robin (6 matches).
     

  • Final “7th match” on Nov 2. If the 1st place team leads by 10 games, the 2nd place team must win by at least 11 games to overtake as an example.
     

3rd place will play 4th place in the final match.
