2020 Spring Season Team Notes for Match Play and Sectionals

NOTE: Orange Ball will not have a team going to sectionals so coaches may sign players up at any time during the season within national parameters. All other 2.4 teams will not be able to add players once the season has started since all 2.4 teams will be playing for Sectionals now.

10s Orange Ball: We have eight teams and therefore there will be 7 matches in all. Sectionals is no longer for this group until further notice. We are looking to have an Orange Ball playoff at Barnes with Anthony’s and Niko’s help. Date TBD and we will keep you posted.

10s Green 2.9: We have six 2.9 teams that will all play against each other while we also have two 3.5 teams (LJBTC and BTC) and one 3.4 (RV) team playing in the mix. The two 10s 3.5 teams will play against each other along with the 3rd 10s 3.5 team of RPTC who is playing in the 12s Red flight. Please note that all matches with the 2.9s vs the 3.5s and 3.4s will not count other than matches played to qualify for Sectionals should a team be invited.

10s Green 3.4: We have only one team at this level with the Rancho Valencia team. They will automatically go to Sectionals since they are the only team.

10s Green 3.5: All three teams of LJBTC, BTC and RPTC will play off at the end of the season to determine 1st, 2nd and 3rd. LJBTC will play BTC in the season which will count so bring your best players for this match on April 12.

LJBTC will then play RPTC on May 3 at 1pm. Coin flip for home court

BTC will then play RPTC on May 10 at 1pm. Coin flip for home court

Team with the most over all games won from the matches will be winner.

12 2.4: We have eight teams in this division as we added Escondido. There will be 7 matches in all and the winner will get an invite to Sectionals.

12 2.9: We have 2 flights in this division. Winner of Flight Blue will play the winner of Flight Red for who goes to Sectionals. Home match for finals will be given to the team with the most games won. Please note that we have a 10s 3.5 in this division and all their games won will not count towards the overall games for the 12s. These matches when the 10s play the 12s will only be good for matches played and used to qualify for Sectionals should a team go.

12s 3.4: We have only one team at this level with the PCT Vipers team. They will automatically go to Sectionals since they are the only team.

They will play each other two times to determine who is the winner of the 2.4 division and who goes to Sectionals. Team with the most amount of games won from these two matches will determine the winner. Should there be a tie in games won, we will have them play a 3rd match to decide all. All other matches played against the 2.9 teams will only be good for matches played to qualify for Sectionals.
