2019 Fall Season Team Notes for Match Play and Sectionals

10s Orange Ball: We have 6 teams and therefore we will play each team 2x for a total of 10 matches. Sectionals is no longer for this group until further notice.

10U 2.9: We have two Flights of Flight Red and Flight Blue. At the end of the season we will have the winner of Flight Red play the winner of Flight Blue. Please note that we have one 10U 3.4 and one 10U 3.5 in the mix. Their results against all 2.9 teams will not count toward the overall 2.9 results at the end of the season. The 10U 3.4 will automatically get an invite to Sectionals and the 10U 3.5 team will play the other 10U 3.5(in 12Us Division) team to determine the winner of the league.

10s 3.4: We have 2 10s 3.4 teams. RPTC and Rancho Valencia. They will play in the 10s int for the season so all players have opportunities to get matches played for possible qualification for Sectionals and will play each other 2 times. Should the two teams each win one match (split), we will have them play a 3nd match with a clean slate to determine the winner. Therefore this last 3rd match will be the deciding factor to determine who goes to Sectionals.

10s 3.5: We have one team in this division with RPTC. They will automatically go to Sectionals. We will place them in the 12s 2.9 to get match play in.

12s 2.4: We have 9 teams in this flight and will have 8 matches.

12s 2.9: We have two Flights of Flight Red and Flight Blue. At the end of the season we will have the winner of Flight Red play the winner of Flight Blue.

Both Flights have 7 teams and will play 6 matches.

Therefore:

Both Flights of Red and Blue will have Red 1st play Blue 1st

Red 2nd play Blue 2nd    Red 3rd play Blue 3rd   Red 4th play Blue 4th

Red 5th play Blue 5th      Red 6th play Blue 6th   Red 7th play Blue 7th

Both 1st place teams will go to Sectionals so the last match is great for more tennis. All other teams may apply for a wild card.

12s 3.4: We have one team in this division with Rancho Valencia. They will automatically go to Sectionals. We will place them in the 12s 2.9 to get match play in.

14s 2.4:: We have 7 teams with 6 matches. At the end of the 6 matches, we will have 1st play 2nd, 3rd play 4th and 5th play 6th. 7th will not have a 7th match unfortunately.

14s 2.9: We have 10 teams. 9 matches will be played.

14s 3.4: We have 2 teams of San Diego Slammers and Players Edge. They will play in the 18s 3.4 for the season so all players have opportunities to get matches in for possible qualification for Sectionals and will play each other 2 times. Should the two teams each win one match (split), we will have them play a 3nd match with a clean slate to determine the winner. Therefore this last 3rd match will be the deciding factor to determine who goes to Sectionals.

14s 3.5: We have one team in this division with Mountain View. They will automatically go to Sectionals. We will place them in the 18s 3.4 to get match play in.

18s 2.4/2.9: We have 6 teams. One is a 2.4 team. All of these teams will place each other 2 times in the season to give them 10 matches in all.

18s 3.4: We have 9 teams in the Division. We have 5 18U 3.4 teams. 2 14U 3.4 teams, 1 14U 3.5 team and 1 18U 3.5 team. All matches will count towards Sectionals and only the matches that the 18s play against each other will count to the overall record. In other words, the matches that the

18s 3.4 play against the 14s and 18s 3.5 will only count for qualification to sectionals and not towards the overall game count which determines the champion.

18s 3.5: We have one team in this division with La Jolla Vikings. They will automatically go to Sectionals. We will place them in the 18s 3.4 to get match play in.
